Terms of Use
Effective Date: October 24, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Discipleship Compass website, application, assessments, reports, dashboards, emails, church enrollment features, analytics features, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
The Service is operated by Sarge Sites LLC (“Discipleship Compass,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Please read these Terms carefully.
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or using Discipleship Compass, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Discipleship Compass Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.
1. Purpose of Discipleship Compass
Discipleship Compass is a Christian discipleship reflection and assessment platform designed to help individuals better understand areas of strength and opportunities for growth in their walk with Jesus Christ.
The Service may provide numerical scores, discipleship-category results, personalized written assessments, reflection questions, recommendations, and related resources.
The Service may also provide participating churches with privacy-protected aggregate analytics intended to help church leaders better understand patterns of discipleship development among participating users.
Discipleship Compass is a tool for reflection and ministry planning. It is not intended to provide a definitive measurement of a person's faith, salvation, relationship with God, spiritual worth, or standing within a church.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Discipleship Compass.
If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of your parent or legal guardian.
The Service is not intended for children under 13.
By creating an account, you represent that you satisfy these eligibility requirements.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating and maintaining your account.
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity conducted through your account.
You may not knowingly allow another person to complete an assessment using your identity or account.
Notify us at support@discipleshipcompass.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
We may require email confirmation, authentication, or other reasonable account-verification measures.
4. Assessment Participation
Discipleship Compass currently limits users to the assessment opportunities made available through their account.
In the current version of the Service, an assessment may be limited to a single completed attempt.
Once an assessment has been completed and submitted for processing, it may be locked against further editing or retaking.
We may introduce additional assessments, versions, or retake opportunities in the future.
Your responses should reflect your own judgment and experience.
Attempting to manipulate assessment results, impersonate another participant, interfere with the assessment system, or submit fraudulent responses is prohibited.
5. Assessment Results
Assessment results are based on the answers you provide and the scoring methodology used by the applicable assessment version.
Your results are intended to support reflection and discipleship development.
They are not a declaration regarding whether you are a Christian, whether you are saved, whether God approves or disapproves of you, or whether you meet any particular theological or ecclesiastical standard.
Different churches, pastors, counselors, or Christian traditions may interpret discipleship practices differently.
Discipleship Compass does not replace Scripture, prayer, wise pastoral counsel, Christian community, or personal discernment.
6. AI-Generated Content
Discipleship Compass may use artificial intelligence, including services provided through the OpenAI API, to assist in generating personalized assessment reports or related content.
Artificial intelligence systems can produce incorrect, incomplete, misleading, or inappropriate output.
AI-generated reports should therefore be treated as reflection tools rather than authoritative conclusions.
AI-generated content is not professional medical advice, mental-health advice, legal advice, financial advice, professional counseling, pastoral authority, prophecy, divine revelation, or a direct message from God.
You are responsible for exercising appropriate judgment when using or relying upon AI-generated content.
If your circumstances involve serious spiritual, emotional, medical, psychological, safety, or personal concerns, seek appropriate help from a qualified professional, trusted pastor, responsible church leader, or emergency service as appropriate.
7. Church Enrollment Links
Participating churches may receive a Discipleship Compass enrollment link.
When you use a valid church enrollment link and create an account through that enrollment process, your account may be associated with that church for Discipleship Compass analytics purposes.
A Discipleship Compass enrollment link:
- does not make you a formal member of that church;
- does not confirm that the church recognizes you as a member;
- does not grant you leadership, administrative, or ministry authority;
- does not create an employment, volunteer, fiduciary, or pastoral relationship; and
- does not authorize you to access Church Admin Analytics.
Church administrative access is granted separately by Discipleship Compass.
8. Public Registration
Users may also register for Discipleship Compass without using a participating church's enrollment link.
Publicly registered users may receive the same individual assessment experience and personalized report while being classified as unaffiliated for participating-church analytics.
Providing the name of a church during public registration does not automatically cause your assessment to be included in that church's Church Admin Analytics.
9. Historical Assessment Affiliation
The organizational context associated with a completed assessment may be preserved as part of the historical assessment record.
If your current church affiliation changes after you complete an assessment, the church association attached to that completed assessment may remain unchanged for historical analytics integrity.
A later change in your account affiliation does not retroactively transfer a completed assessment from one participating church's historical analytics to another.
10. Church Admin Analytics
Authorized church administrators may access aggregate analytics for eligible assessments associated with their church.
Church Admin Analytics may include participation totals, category performance, trends, demographic comparisons, behavior-level insights, or similar aggregate information.
Discipleship Compass applies privacy safeguards to certain analytics, including suppression of results where groups are too small to display safely.
Church Admin Analytics are intended for ministry planning, discipleship strategy, and organizational insight.
Church administrators agree not to use analytics in an attempt to reverse-engineer the identity or individual assessment responses of participants.
Church administrators may not use the Service to discriminate unlawfully, harass individuals, publicly expose private information, or misuse analytics for purposes inconsistent with these Terms.
11. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Discipleship Compass Privacy Policy.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that the Service may process information relating to discipleship practices, religious background, church affiliation, demographics, assessment responses, and personalized reports.
Please review the Privacy Policy before using the Service.
12. Acceptable Use
You may use Discipleship Compass only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to another person's account, another church's analytics, administrative functions, databases, servers, source code, or infrastructure.
You may not interfere with the operation or security of the Service; probe or circumvent authentication or access controls; submit malicious code; scrape or extract information through unauthorized automated means; use enrollment links fraudulently; impersonate another person; intentionally corrupt assessment data; attempt to identify individuals from privacy-protected aggregate analytics; or use the Service in violation of applicable law.
We may investigate suspected misuse and restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, participating churches, or the Service.
13. Intellectual Property
Discipleship Compass and its associated software, assessment structure, questions, scoring systems, written content, graphics, branding, reports, and other materials may be protected by copyright, trademark, trade-secret, and other intellectual-property laws.
Except for rights expressly granted under these Terms, all rights are reserved.
You may use your own assessment report for your personal discipleship, ministry, or pastoral discussions.
You may not reproduce, republish, sell, distribute, scrape, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit substantial portions of the assessment, application, or proprietary materials without written permission from Discipleship Compass.
Your own information and assessment responses remain information relating to you; these Terms do not claim ownership over your underlying personal information.
14. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide suggestions, feedback, feature ideas, or other recommendations concerning Discipleship Compass, you grant us permission to consider and use that feedback without obligation to compensate you.
This does not grant us ownership of your personal assessment responses merely because you use the Service.
15. Third-Party Services
Discipleship Compass relies on third-party services to provide portions of the Service.
These may include hosting, database, email-delivery, artificial-intelligence, monitoring, infrastructure, and similar providers.
Third-party services may experience outages, errors, delays, or changes outside our control.
Your use of independent third-party websites or services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
16. Service Availability
We strive to maintain a reliable Service but do not guarantee that Discipleship Compass will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, upgrades, provider outages, security issues, technical failures, or circumstances outside our control.
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or replace portions of the Service as the product evolves.
17. Changes to Assessments and Features
Discipleship Compass may update assessment questions, scoring methodologies, categories, reports, dashboards, analytics, or other features.
Because assessment versions may differ, results from different assessment versions may not always be directly comparable.
Historical assessment records may retain information about the assessment version originally completed.
18. Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service when reasonably necessary because of misuse, fraud, security concerns, violations of these Terms, legal requirements, or conduct that threatens the integrity of Discipleship Compass or its users.
You may stop using the Service at any time.
Questions concerning account closure or deletion requests may be directed to support@discipleshipcompass.com.
Termination of access does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every historical record where retention is permitted or required under our Privacy Policy or applicable law.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DISCIPLESHIP COMPASS IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, COMPLETELY SECURE, OR THAT ANY ASSESSMENT RESULT, AI-GENERATED CONTENT, RECOMMENDATION, OR ANALYTIC INSIGHT WILL BE COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR APPROPRIATE FOR EVERY PERSON OR CHURCH.
DISCIPLESHIP COMPASS DOES NOT WARRANT OR GUARANTEE ANY PARTICULAR SPIRITUAL, PERSONAL, MINISTRY, OR ORGANIZATIONAL OUTCOME FROM USING THE SERVICE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
20. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SARGE SITES LLC, DISCIPLESHIP COMPASS, AND THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE.
THIS INCLUDES DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON ASSESSMENT RESULTS, AI-GENERATED CONTENT, CHURCH ANALYTICS, INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE, LOSS OF DATA, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT LEGALLY BE LIMITED.
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from your use of the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid directly to us for the Service during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or $100.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations of liability, so this provision applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
21. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, liabilities, claims, or expenses arising from your intentional misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of another person's rights, or unlawful activity conducted through your account.
This provision does not require you to indemnify Discipleship Compass for conduct for which indemnification cannot legally be required.
22. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Any legal proceeding that is not otherwise required by law to occur elsewhere will be brought in an appropriate state or federal court located in Franklin County, Ohio, and the parties consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
Before filing a legal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us at support@discipleshipcompass.com so that we can attempt to resolve the issue informally.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms as Discipleship Compass evolves.
If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or through another appropriate method.
The Effective Date at the top identifies the version currently in effect.
Continued use of the Service after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
Where additional affirmative consent is legally required, we may request it.
24. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
25. Entire Agreement
These Terms and the Discipleship Compass Privacy Policy constitute the agreement between you and Discipleship Compass concerning your use of the Service, except where another written agreement expressly applies.
Participating churches may also have separate agreements with Discipleship Compass governing organizational access or use.
